WILLIAM FULTON NEIL
A former House Surgeon to the Nottingham General Hospital, he left after three years’ service with singularly high commendation in 1912. He volunteered on the outbreak of war in 1914, but worked for the Hospital as a Temporary Assistant Surgeon until he was called up in November, 1914. He went to France as Surgical Specialist.
Towards the end of the War he was appointed as Surgical Specialist to Nottingham, where he was able to help in civilian work in addition to carrying out his military duties.
