ALEXANDER MOXON WEBBER
When war came Mr. Webber was Honorary Secretary of the Nottingham Division of the British Medical Association and it became his duty to arrange for the work of the general practitioners who were called up for duty.
At the request of the General Hospital authorities he did temporary duty as Honorary Assistant Surgeon, from August, 1914, to September, 1915.
In September he joined the R.A.M.C. And was appointed Surgeon Specialist to the 27th General Hospital, first at Mudros and afterwards at Abbassieh, Cairo.
In December, 1916, he went to East Africa attached to the 52nd Lowland C.C.S. with the rank of Major. He was twice mentioned in disatches.
